Tartu Nature House

Tartu Nature House has been active for the past 50 years (previously known as Tartu Young Naturalists’ Station, Tartu Young Naturalists’ House and Tartu Youth’s Nature House). Tartu Nature House has been trying to awaken and raise purposeful interest in nature among students. We have changed and developed according to the times and circumstances, we have kept our traditions but remained open to novelties. We hope that our students will become responsible adults with a friendly and sustainable attitude towards nature and environment.

Tartu Nature House was established (on April 12, 2002) by the Tartu Environmental Education Centre (TEEC) Foundation as a private hobby-school, which carries on the work of a municipal hobby-school Tartu Youth’s Nature House (established in October, 1953 and closed down on July 31, 2002).

Our symbol is the Yellow Lady’s Slipper (Cypripedium calceolus) – one of the 36 protected orchids in Estonia.

If you want to find out more about the world around us, if you care about the well-being of nature at present and in the future, if you are looking for a friendly and safe company, then – Tartu Nature House is open for you!

Various indoors and outdoors activities, tours and excursions to different places in Estonia, opportunities to find new friends, possibilities to demonstrate your knowledge and skills at competitions and quizzes, participation in events and projects – all this enables you to spend your free time from school in an inventive and useful way.

You will find the most suitable and enjoyable hobby-group here. Welcome!
